ABOUT our founder,
Lillian B. Archer
I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. I am a passionate cook and avid Peloton rider. I believe in optimism and leaps of faith and adventure. I believe that whatever you set your mind to, you can do.
I am senior development professional with over 15 years of experience developing and implementing fundraising strategies at a local, national, and international non-profit organizations. My goal as a fundraiser is to bring together private, corporate, and civic supporters to make the change they want to see in the world.
I love to help my clients, who range from schools, to museums, and NGOs. I help them expand board and volunteer involvement in fundraising, raise significantly more money, and, most importantly, enjoy the fund development process! My experience encompasses strategic planning, capital campaigns, individual giving (major gifts, membership and annual campaigns), board development, publications, staff management, recruitment and transition, and special event conception and execution.
Before founding The Archer Group, I was most recently the director of development at San Francisco Botanical Garden Society. As a founding member of its leadership team, I oversaw all fundraising and membership programs to support the Garden as a public facility in Golden Gate Park. At a time of immense financial pressure and public scrutiny, I worked in partnership with the executive director and trustees to build a new fundraising operation and support the Garden's multi-million dollar million budget. Previous to my tenure at the Garden, I had the privilege of serving other nonprofits with annual budgets ranging from $100+ million to less than $100,000 including: International Rescue Committee, Hillel at Stanford University, North American Conference on Ethiopian Jewry, and UJA-Federation of New York.
I have lived in San Francisco for over a decade (originally from New York City), am a proud a graduate of Syracuse University (Go Orange!) and hold masters in nonprofit administration from City University of New York-Baruch College.
