Principal Consultant and Founder, Lillian Archer
The Archer Group was founded in 2015 by Lillian Archer. Here’s a bit about me:
I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. I am a passionate cook and avid, but steady-paced, runner. I believe in optimism and leaps of faith, adventure and self care. I believe that whatever you set your mind to, you can do.
I am senior nonprofit executive with close to 20 years of experience developing and implementing fundraising strategies at local, national, and international organizations. My goal as a fundraiser is to bring together private, corporate, and civic supporters to make the change they want to see in the world.
I love to help my clients, who range from schools, to museums, social service agencies, cultural institutions and multinational NGOs. I support organizations to expand board and volunteer involvement in fundraising, to raise significantly more money, and, most importantly, to enjoy the fund development process! My client work focuses on individual giving (major gifts, membership and annual fund and capital campaigns) but includes board development, special event conception and execution, strategic planning, project management, and interim staff services.
Before founding The Archer Group, I was the director of development at San Francisco Botanical Garden. As a member of the leadership team, I oversaw all fundraising and membership programs to support the Garden as a public facility in Golden Gate Park. At a time of immense financial pressure and civic scrutiny, I worked in partnership with the executive director and trustees to build a new fundraising operation and support the Garden's multi-million dollar budget. Previous to my tenure at the Botanical Garden, I had the privilege of serving other nonprofits with annual budgets ranging from $100+ million to less than $100,000 including: International Rescue Committee, Hillel at Stanford University, North American Conference on Ethiopian Jewry, and UJA-Federation of New York. I have served almost every role in a development department including Development Associate, Event Manager, Corporate Foundation Relations Officer and Director of Development.
Born and raised in New York City, I’ve called San Francisco my home since 2009, am a proud graduate of Syracuse University (Go Orange!) and hold a masters in nonprofit administration from City University of New York-Baruch College.
